

Shivadham temple is situated only 2 km from Tapovan within easy walking
distance. Several other temples are located in the surrounding
villages.
Shivapuri is located in the south of
Maharashtra state about 800km from Tapovan. It is the site of the Mahasamadhi of
Parama Sadguru Shree Gajanan Maharaj of Akkalkot.
About 200km south of Tapovan lies the famous ashram of Sai
Baba of Shirdi. And nearby in Sakuri
is the ashram of Upasani Baba, the Guru of the Holy Mother of Parama Sadguru
Shree Gajanan Maharaj.
Within
easy traveling distance from Tapovan are the remarkable Ajanta and
Ellora caves. Today the wall-paintings, sculpture and architecture of Ajanta and Ellora
are world famous. Thousands of visitors come here to marvel at one of the true
wonders of the ancient world.
Ellora caves are situated near the city of Aurangabad which itself boasts of
several important historic sites. Aurangabad, Ajanta and Ellora are each
situated less than 200km from Tapovan. They can be reached easily by bus or taxi
in a day trip.
Further north is the city of Jaipur, which
together with India's capital, New Delhi, and Agra, the
site of the Taj Mahal, form the so-called Golden Triangle. Jaipur is famous for its textiles and precious stones.
Closer to Tapovan (250km) is the ancient town of Maheshwar on the banks of the
holy Narmada River which is the source of the Narmadeshwar Shivalingams and also
the Sacred Narmada Sand.
